The ESL (English as a Second Language) Placement Test is for non-native English speakers, testing their skills in two areas: English Reading and Grammar.
The test is computerized with 75 multiple choice comprehensive questions. The ESL Placement Test is 45 minutes. Allow an additional 15 minutes for instruction.
The test results is available next business day for the credit ESL placement test. Follow these steps to login to your Student Portal page or come to the Assessment office with a photo id to get a printed copy of test results
After the initial placement testing in a subject area, students may retake the test once per semester.
If you have a verifiable disability and are in need of extended time, or other testing accommodations please contact the Disability Resources Department at (707) 527-4305. If leaving a message, please list dates that you are available to test and your student identification number. Check in for the test will begin 30 minutes prior to start time. Please bring picture identification with you to check in.
