Early Assessment Program (EAP) Placement

Students who participated in the Early Assessment Program (EAP)/Smarter Balanced through California Assessment of Student Performance and Progress (CAASPP) while in high school may be able to use EAP/Smarter Balanced results to place into SRJC English and math courses. Please refer to the chart below to help define the required SRJC Procedure.

Standard Exceeded:
Ready for English college-level coursework.

English 1A

Student submits their EAP test results to Student Success & Assessment Services. Student is eligible to enroll in English 1A.

Standard Met Conditionally:
Ready for English college-level coursework. Obtain full "Ready" status by taking an approved English full-year, senior year course and pass it with a "C" or higher.

 

Conditionally —
English 1A

Student submits their EAP test result with (Unofficial) High School Transcript and requests an EAP Conditional Review to Student Success & Assessment Services. Students who receive a Conditional Readiness for English should enroll in one of these courses and pass with a grade of C or better in both semesters during their high school senior year: AP English; IB English; ERWC (Expository Reading and Writing Course); or course approved for extra Honors credit by the University of California.

Standard Nearly Met: 
Not yet demonstrating readiness for English college-level coursework.

 

For students who completed the 11th grade, your high school information will be used to place you into a transfer level course. Please review how is my placement calculated and update your high school records

Ready for math college-level coursework.

Math 9, 10, 15, 16, 25, 58, 27

Student submits their EAP test results to Student Success & Assessment Services. Student is eligible to enroll in Math 9, 10, 15, 16, 25, 27, and 58.

Standard Met: 
Conditionally Ready for math college-level coursework. Obtain full "Ready" status by taking an approved math full-year, senior year course and pass it with a "C" or higher.

Conditionally —
Math 9, 10, 15, 16, 25, 58, 27

Student submits their EAP test result with (Unofficial) High School Transcript and requests an EAP Conditional Review to Student Success & Assessment Services. Students who receive a Conditional Readiness for Mathematics should enroll in one of these courses and pass with a grade of C or better in both semesters during their high school senior year: Trigonometry and Math Analysis; Pre-Calculus; Calculus; AP Calculus AB; AP Calculus BC; AP Statistics; or AP Physics.
