Do you need to update your high school records?

For students who graduated from a US high school within 10 years, your high school information will be used to place you into a transfer level course. Please review the information below to see if you need to update your high school records.

If you graduated from a US high school more than 10 years ago, you will be eligible for a Guided Self-Placement instead of using high school records.

Did you check your SRJC Portal Placement Results and find that your reported GPA or math coursework is wrong or blank?

You should update your high school record information now only if the reported info is currently incorrect and a correction would result in a changed placement. An increased GPA would change your placement if:

  •  A previously reported lower GPA increases above 1.9. This increase changes English placement.
  • A previously reported lower GPA increases above 2.8 and you did not complete a year of Algebra 2 or Integrated Math 3 with a C grade or above. This increase changes Math placement. Note: If you already reported completion of Algebra 2 or Integrated Math 3.

Did you check your SRJC Portal Placement Results and see that your GPA will be increased by the end of 12th grade?

You should update your high school record information after you graduate only if the improved GPA would result in a changed placement. Note: this will delay your math or English enrollment until 12th grade completion. The only two scenarios where an increased GPA would change your placement is listed below:

  • A previously reported lower GPA increases above 1.9. This increase changes English placement.
  • A previously reported lower GPA increases above 2.8 and you did not completed a year of Algebra 2 or Integrated Math 3 with a C grade or above. This increase changes Math placement. Note: If you already reported completion of Algebra 2 or Integrated Math 3, then your placement is not affected by a GPA change.  Update your high school GPA at the link below.
