The English as a Second Language (ESL) placement test is for non-native English speakers, testing their skills in English reading and grammar. Students will receive 45 minutes to answer 75 multiple choice questions.

To make an appointment, visit your Student Portal or contact the Testing and Support Services Center at (707) 527-4305, Santa Rosa Campus or (707) 778-3908, Petaluma Campus.
What to bring with you
- Photo identification (driver's license, passport, student ID card, government issued ID)
- SRJC student ID number.
Please arrive 15 minutes prior to the test start time to check in. Latecomers will not be admitted after the test begins.
Test results are available next business day. To get your test results, follow these steps to login to your Student Portal page or come to the Assessment office with a photo ID to get a printed copy of your test results.
After the initial ESL placement testing, you may retake the test once per semester.
